Terms of Use
Last updated October 2, 2026
The short version: Scrombie is a mirror for your screen time, not a medical product or a parental control. Its minutes are close, not exact. Use a face you have the right to use. Apple's standard license covers the rest.
Agreement
Scrombie (the “App”) is published by LoRicco & Co LLC (“we”) and licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). These terms add a few things specific to Scrombie. By downloading or using the App you agree to both. If they conflict, these terms control for the matters they cover.
What the App is, and isn't
Scrombie turns the time you spend in apps you choose into a face that drains through five stages during the day and resets at midnight. It's a motivational tool and a bit of a joke at your own expense.
It isn't medical, psychological or health advice, a diagnosis or a treatment, and its stages, vitality and streaks say nothing about your health or your appearance. If your phone use feels out of your control, talk to someone qualified to help.
Scrombie is for managing your own phone. It isn't a parental-control product and doesn't use Screen Time's child-management features.
Screen Time data and accuracy
The App relies on Apple's Screen Time frameworks, which you authorize and can turn off at any time in iOS Settings. Totals are counted by Apple and reported to the App in steps (every 5 minutes, then every 15 after three hours) and stop at eight hours, so they're approximate. Apple's reports can arrive early or late, and monitoring stops if you revoke access. We don't control those frameworks and can't guarantee they report every minute.
Lockdown
Lockdown asks iOS to shield the apps you chose until midnight once you reach the stage you picked. You can turn it off in the App's Settings at any time. Don't include apps you may need for safety, work, travel or emergencies. Lockdown is a nudge, not a guarantee: iOS decides how shields behave, and we aren't responsible for anything you couldn't do while one was up, or for an app that wasn't shielded.
Your photo and your cards
- Use only your own face, or a photo you have the right and the permission to use. Don't use someone else's face without their consent, and don't use the App to mock, harass or impersonate anyone.
- Your photo stays yours. It's processed on your phone and never uploaded to us; see the Privacy Policy.
- The decay effect is a stylized illustration, not a prediction of how anyone will look.
- Cards you make are yours to post. You're responsible for what you share and where. The eight drawn characters and the App's artwork belong to us; you can share them in cards made with the App, but please don't sell them or use them to promote something else.
Scrombie Pro
- Scrombie Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription bought through Apple, monthly or yearly. The price and period are shown before you buy, and payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm, or when a free trial ends.
- A free trial, where offered, is for eligible new subscribers. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or the current period ends, the subscription renews at the same price and period.
- Manage or cancel in Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Deleting the App doesn't cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds ourselves.
- Streak insurance forgives one day a month that went Hollow, so it doesn't break your streak. It doesn't roll over, has no cash value and ends with the subscription.
Acceptable use
Don't reverse engineer, resell or interfere with the App, and don't use it in a way that breaks the law or Apple's terms.
No warranty; limitation of liability
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including that the App will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will change how you use your phone. We aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any amount more than what you paid us for the App in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Changes and termination
We may update the App or these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new date. We may discontinue the App at any time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your country of residence requires otherwise.
