The face isn't changing.

Check that Screen Time access is allowed and that you've picked some apps: in Scrombie's Settings, “Monitoring” should say On. Only time in the apps you picked counts, and totals update every 5 minutes, so the face lags a little behind. If Monitoring is off, tap Retry monitoring.

It says Screen Time access is off.

Open Scrombie's Settings and tap Allow Screen Time access. If you turned it off in iOS Settings › Screen Time, iOS also forgets which apps you picked, so Scrombie asks you to choose your apps again.

The minutes don't match iOS Screen Time.

They won't match to the minute. Scrombie hears about your total in steps (every 5 minutes, every 15 after three hours) and stops counting at 8 hours, shown as “8h+”. It also counts only the apps you picked, while iOS counts everything. Details on the Today screen shows exact minutes per app.

It couldn't find a face in my photo.

Use a straight-on selfie in good light, with your whole face in frame. Without a face, Scrombie can only drain the color. Or pick one of the eight characters: their stages are drawn by hand.

How do I change or remove my face?

Settings › Avatar › Change avatar, or Remove avatar to delete it from your phone. Saved cards in Photos aren't touched.

How does Lockdown work?

With Scrombie Pro, turn on Lockdown in Settings and pick when it starts: when you go Hollow (at your budget) or when you're a Scrombie (at double). From then until midnight, the apps you picked open to a block screen with your own Scrombie face. Turn it off in Settings any time.

How do I add the widget?

Touch and hold an empty spot on your home screen, tap Edit › Add Widget, search for Scrombie, and choose small or medium. For the Lock Screen ring, touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, then add it under widgets.

I'm getting too many (or no) notifications.

Scrombie sends at most one alert per stage change, no more than four a day, plus the Sunday recap. Turn them on or off in Scrombie's Settings › Alerts. If they're off in iOS Settings, Scrombie shows a link to fix that.

How do I restore or cancel Scrombie Pro?

Restore purchases is in Settings and on the Pro screen. To cancel, go to iOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

How do I delete my data?

Settings › Start over erases your avatar, your picked apps and your history from the phone. Deleting the app removes everything. Nothing is stored anywhere else; see the privacy policy.

Which iPhones does it run on?

Any iPhone on iOS 17.4 or later. Scrombie is iPhone-only for now.

Still stuck?

Email admin@loriccoandco.com with your iPhone model, iOS version and the Scrombie version (at the bottom of Settings). Please don't send your photo; a description is plenty.
